I want to know about Sweden citizenship process for a student.I am going to do master of duration 1 year.?
I have heard that when one applies for student visa,he has to take residence permit stamp on passport. 2nd step is to take work permit 3rd step is to live 5 years in sweden and Then apply for citizenship. I am a non-EU student. Please tell me these steps are correct or is there any problem with my information Your help will be appreciated REGARDS

Yes that's probably what you'll have to do. If it wasn't because you were studying though I'd recommend getting a work permit first though, put that's not relevant anymore. You should know however that foreigners usually have difficulties in the job market. Language and mentality are very important factors. Education comes before experience as long as you have at least some experience. The mentality thing is difficult to explain but I can if you want. Ask if there's anything else.

A holder of a residence permit for studies does not need a separate work permit. You have to live in Sweden for five years on a permanent residence permit to be eligible for citizenship. Foreign students are rarely if ever issued permanent residence permits. The time as a student will not count towards a Swedish citizenship.

Eh.. wow... by yourself? Are you sure you have thought this through? lol. Ehm if you were living alone the expected student costs would range from 6 700 crowns to 7 400 depending on where you live. Since you're not Swedish i don't think you can take maternity leave.. Sending your kid to kindergarten.. that will be cheap since your a student and single. The cost is based on how much money you make and how many kids you have who goes to kindergarten.. just to make sure everyone can afford it.. there are several reasons we have all but erased the so called lower class. The rest is payed for by us, the taxpayers. Your education as I'm sure you know is free for everyone who's human but what I don't think you know is that there is a proposal to change that. If that proposal goes through people who aren't citizens in the EU, Norway or Iceland would have to pay for it. Keep up with the news. Most people I've talked to don't think that will happen though. Anyway. The cost of your kid.. A normal Swedish kid.. 4 000 a month. Your kid.. 1 000/ 2 000 a month. That plus kindergarten. You only have one kid which means you you pay 3 % of what you make every month for the service.. unless you make more than 38 000 kr. Then you pay 1 140 kr. Never more than that. Basically you're living expenses a month should range from 9 000 to 12 000 (most probable a monthly expense around 9 000/ 10 000) a month.

How much does student live in a big city in Sweden cost per month?

How much does student live in a big city in Sweden cost per month?
I will live together with my girlfriend, which will hopefully minimize the rent to 1500-2000SEK per person. But what will my other expenses be? How much money do I need for basic food (not steak every day)? What about public transport? I'm looking at Goteborg and Stockholm, but possibly also Lund.

I can give you monthly estimates for Stockholm. The bills are total prices, which I guess might be divided in half in some cases. Rent: your estimate is probably okay for half of a small shared flat Utilities: up to 1000 kr Internet: 300 kr Mobile phone: 150-300 kr Transportation card: ~700 kr Food: at least 1500 kr Going out: depends on your habits, but budget around 200 kr for a cheap restaurant, 100 kr for a film, 60 kr for a beer (can cost half that if you know where to go), 300-600 kr for a concert You could get by on as little as 6000 kr/month each if you lived very economically. 8000 kr would give you budget but comfortable living.

Let me research that and get back to you.
2 :
All the information you need is on the official site for higher education in Sweden: https://www.studera.nu/studera/241.html Applications to all Swedish universities are sent to the same place so it will take as long to get an answer no matter where you apply. Some universities may be more efficient in their communication after you have applied though of course.

Should you hve been awarded a long stay type D visa for Sweden you will not need a Direct Airside Transit Visa for the United Kingdom. Sweden is a country of the European Economic Area (EEA). Holders of long stay visa of a EEA country can travel via the United Kingdom without the need of a Direct Airside Transit Visa. http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/doineedvisa/visadatvnationals .. [read para 6. of the visa exemptions] http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/resources/en/docs/1903073/vaf5 .. [read that Sweden is a EEA contry] To travel without a visa you need to show that you: • have booked an onward ticket from the UK for travel within 24 hours of your arrival • will not need to change airport in the UK • have all the correct documents you will need to be allowed to enter the country you are travelling to • have your luggage checked-through to your final destination • will not need to pass through the UK's immigration control

Here is a great website for leaning about sweden, they love music and play a sport something like our baseball but I don't know how you pronounce it, your friend will know, I think it is really good what you are doing and I wish you great success.
