Is it possible to prologate residence permit of elemementry school student after expiration of his permit?
An elementry school student settled into Sweden for one year with temporary resident permit. He has been assigned a social security number in order to register at school. Can he then claim for prologation of his permit to continue his studies next year? A 13-year old student who is a non-EU citizen settled into Sweden for one year with temporary resident permit. He has been assigned a personnummer in order to register at school. Can his parents then claim for prologation of his permit to continue studies next year? Is there any EU regulation granting him resident permit in order to study? (based on the fact study is one's right (?) )

which country is the student from ? not sure how old he is ? please give details ....... if his permit is already expired ? please let it know so i can do research as well .. i suppose his time is not expired ? or is it ? i will come back to check and see if you gave more details ....

A swedish personnummer is not the same thing as a social security number, and being issued one doesn't really have much to do with residence status. You should be asking these questions at migrationsverket, they are the only ones who can answer you.There are many reasons they will extend a residence visa. Being in school and having a personnummer are unlikely to be enough on their own though.
