Just as a warning, cheap housing can be difficult to get (especially in Stockholm). First-hand contracts are cheapest, but people queue for these flats for years. You'll need to rent a room or take a 2nd hand contract, some of which are illegal, so be wary of your rights. http://www.thelocal.se/24858/20100208/ Blocket is one of the more popular rental sites, but it's mostly in Swedish (occasionally there's an English ad). You could try pasting the ads into Google Translate, which makes it vaguely readable. People rent rooms for as low as ~2000 SEK/month (which is much less than £2000). Click on a city name to narrow the search to that area. http://www.blocket.se/stockholm?q=&cg=3020&w=3&st=u&mre=&ros=&roe=&ss=&se=&ca=11&l=0&md=th And another, also in Swedish: http://www.andrahand.se/ There's a pay site which I haven't used myself, but several friends have recommended it. For 300 SEK (more if you include Stockholm), you can search ads and put your own up. http://www.bostaddirekt.com/ Here's a site to find people to share an account with: http://lostinstockholm.com/free-bostad-direkt-customerids-logins/ If you'll be a student and are even considering Stockholm, get in line now: http://www.sssb.se/index.php?page=home_eng

Follow the links above posted, since I can't give you much more, but I will let you know that you probably read "2000 pounds a week" when it is actually 2000 swedish kroner. no one here pays that much for a unit a week...
