Minimum costs of living in Sweden as a student?

Minimum costs of living in Sweden as a student?
I have a part time job that can be done from anywhere (just needs internet) earning around 400-500e. I certainly can't have fun, no travels etc. is that enough to live there? thanks for your assistance.

well housing is very expensive. Also you will need to register at the tax office to get a ''Personnumer''. This will then allow you to get access to an internet contract. then just go shopping in Lidl or Dagsliv or PrisXtra. Also avoid Stockholm as it is very expensive. On the whole I´d say that it will be very hard but if you´re lucky and look for a room outside of Stockholm you might find one for about 230e and then the internet should cost about 30 per month too Good luck

€500 is just over 5000 SEK. It depends on where you live, but it's possible (although very difficult) even in Stockholm. You would have to rent a room in shared housing (and get lucky enough to find one cheaply, that included utilities). 1000-1500 SEK/month could be enough for food if you only cook at home and eat simple meals (at 1000 SEK you'd be limited to things like sandwiches or rice with some vegetables). A used bike for getting around can be found for ~500 SEK, otherwise transportation cards are about 600 SEK/month in major cities. You wouldn't be able to have any extras like going out or buying non-necessary things, but it's possible if you're willing to live a very basic life while there. It would help to have some savings in case of emergencies. Here's a link to rentals under 2500 SEK/month in Sweden (everything's in Swedish): http://www.blocket.se/hela_sverige?q=&cg=3020&w=3&st=u&mre=5&ros=&roe=&ss=&se=&ca=11&md=th However, if you are from outside the EU, you need to show you have a certain amount per month before you can get a study permit. I think the amount is around 7300 SEK/month. http://migrationsverket.se/english.jsp
